Metanoia Systems runs a registered Institutional Review Board (IRB) process, the formal ethics review that governs any legitimate study involving human participants. Our IRB is registered with the federal Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) and the National Institutes of Health under registration (IRB00015172), and it satisfies every criterion of the Common Rule, the federal standard (45 CFR 46) for ethical human-subjects research.

Our research process is designed to be inherently multi-disciplinary; optimized for delivering actionable next steps, whether that be prototyping, policy development, algorithm development, patent submission, or double-blind empirical validation.
We support both proprietary and open-access research models. The 10% of proceeds that we allocate to our “Pro-Bono” fund are eligible to cover the costs of research that will be open-access, or prototypes that will be open-sourced.
